Surry Hills Library and Community Centre Awarded 2nd Place in the Emilio Ambasz Prize for Green Architecture | 8 Mar 2010

Altus Page Kirkland was engaged as Project Manager on the innovative Surry Hills Library and Community Centre, which was recently awarded 2nd place in Israel's Emilio Ambasz Prize for Green Architecture. Over 300 entries were received from around the world. All winning projects are published in the Architecture of Israel Quarteryly, which will be released next month. In other related news, the Surry Hills Library and Community Centre has been shortlisted in the Government Leadership, Public Buildings and Thinc Award for Sustainable Developments categories of the 2010 Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall National Innovation and Excellence Awards.

Architecture Australia will publish an article on the project in their March/April issue, which will include an environmental technical section specifically on the Centre, as prepared by Steensen Varming.
